General information
Department of general and inorganic chemistry of the Technological Institute of building materials, established in Shymkent by Decree No. 619 of the ICC of the USSR dated 19.06.1943, engaged in general education of students in chemistry from the first day. This department is compiled from the specialties of inorganic, organic, analytical and Physical Chemistry. Over time, associated with an increase in the number of students and the opening of specialties, new chemistry departments were organized on the basis of this Department: "General and inorganic chemistry", "Analytical Chemistry", "Organic Chemistry", "Physical and colloidal chemistry".

In 1997, these departments together formed the Department of Chemistry. It was opened in August 2006 (Order No. 274, 08/17/06) as a result of reorganization at the university as part of the natural and pedagogical Faculty of the Department "methods and theory of teaching chemistry". In different years, the position of the head of the department was held by well-known scientists and moral teachers:
2004-2008. The department was headed by Doctor of technical sciences, professor K. K. Syrmanova, 2008-2010.in the period from 2009 to 2009,the department was headed by candidate of historical sciences, Acting Associate Professor K. M. Bekzhanova. Since 2011, the department has been headed by candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor M. N. Ermakhanov.
Currently, the Department of" Chemistry " teaches 1 doctor of science, professor, 8 candidates of science, associate professors, 3 senior teachers, 5 master's teachers. In 2018, specialty 6b01541 - "chemistry and Biology" was opened. The department trains specialists in 2 educational programs at the level of 3 stages:
- Bachelor of education in the specialty 6b01540 - "Chemistry",
- Bachelor of education in the specialty 6B01541 - "Chemistry and biology" ,
- Master of Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 7M01541-"Chemistry", Students study in the Departments of full-time, evening and distance education, many of them are holders of educational grants. Undergraduates undergo scientific internships in higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The first graduates of the Department graduated in 2009 in the specialty 5B011200-"chemistry". On the basis of this department with more than 70 years of history, several thousand specialists have been trained in accordance with the requirements of the education system and society. The teaching staff of the Department prepares and publishes textbooks, educational and methodological literature in accordance with the publishing plan, annually replenishes the fund of the university library. The level of methodological support of the educational process in the specialties prepared by the department meets the current requirements for improving the quality of training of specialists. The department is equipped with computer classes connected to the Internet, interactive whiteboards. Holders of the state grant" the best teacher of the University " are Candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Ermakhanov M. N. (2015), candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Adyrbekova G. M. (2016).
Graduates can work in secondary, professional, higher educational institutions in the field of public education, research centers, public administration bodies. Our graduates are not limited to pedagogical activities, they carry out creative activities with great success in science and industry. Task Our main goal is to train professionally competent teachers of a new formation (Bachelor of chemistry, Bachelor of chemistry and biology, master of Chemistry) who are able to creatively solve the problems of development and formation of students ' personality, introduce innovative educational principles into the educational system integrated with research activities. We form moral and general cultural qualities based on the integration of Kazakhstan's education system into the world educational space for future specialists.

2 steps. TO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITIES OF TRAINING FUTURE CHEMISTRY AND CHEMISTRY-BIOLOGY TEACHERS IN CONDUCTING CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY CLASSES AT A HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION.
The results of research work in these areas and research projects are published in scientific journals of the far and near abroad with an impact factor, in the Republican rating publications on the list of the Supervisory Committee of the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the works of International, Republican, Regional Scientific and practical conferences of various levels. The department pays great attention to the interaction of students and undergraduates with G3s and participation in conferences, subject Olympiads, competitions of various levels.
